Lizz Bittel (23; Jacksonville, FL;
lizzb@sfalliance.org) is a South Florida native who recently graduated from the University of North Florida with a Sociology degree. She has been working on the Campaign for Fair Food since 2009 and is incredibly excited to be a part of the SC. Lizz is a co-founder of Fair Food Jacksonville - a local branch of the SFA, and is looking forward to working closely with the CIW and SFA on gaining traction in Northeast Florida. She is academically interested in social and environmental justice, sustainable agriculture, community organizing, women's rights, LGBTQ equality and fair labor practices and plans to pursue graduate studies in Environmental and Disaster Sociology. In her spare time, Lizz enjoys cooking slavery-free meals for her closest friends, riding her bike to various parks in Riverside, hanging with her lady friends, live music, fantasizing about sunsets in Immokalee and theorizing about ways to bring Publix to its knees. Lizz can not give enough thanks to those family members, friends and professors who have supported her in her fight for Fair Food.

Shona Clarkson (20; Lawrence, KS; shona@sfalliance.org) is originally from St. Louis, MO, but is currently living and learning in Lawrence, KS. Shona has been involved in the Campaign for Fair Food since the Burger King campaign, and keeps it real in the midwest by organizing with a local branch of SFA, Lawrence Fair Food. Shona is interested in horizontal methods of organizing, economics, popular education, community growth and learning. She also enjoys spending time riding her bike, reading, cuddling and watching Lord of the Rings.  She is pumped to start up her second year on the Steering Committee!

Erica Dodt (25; Orlando/Immokalee, FL; erica@sfalliance.org) is entering her third year on the steering committee and is starting her first year on the administrative committee. She is excited to be in Orlando mobilizing for the "Do the Right THing" march. Erica attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale creating her own major in Social Justice and minoring in Womens Studies. She made school interesting and relevant by co-founding a feminist organization, creating independent discussion/reading courses with friends, interning at a free-legal service for low-income persons focusing on housing issues and working on a documentary in Brazil about a land occupation in Belo Horizonte. Erica came to this movement because of its capacity to be a reflexive/action oriented force that is  building a holistic path towards food sovereignty. She has learned so much from this movement and the wonderful people that are a part of it. She is interested in coyuntura; learning media skills; cyborgs; building strong, fun, accountable and supportive relationships; cooking, sewing and other DYI crafts; chocolate, and exercising for the revolution!

Liz Fitzgerald (21; Oakland, CA; liz@sfalliance.org) is an undergraduate American Studies major at UC Davis. Liz is also the co-director of Village Harvest Davis, a group of students and community members who pick fruit and vegetables in the Davis area and deliver it to agencies who distribute them to folks who have inadequate access to fresh produce. She first heard about the CIW on a local radio show about sustainable agriculture when they had just won their victory with Subway. Liz is interested in finding ways to fully incorporate social justice into sustainable agriculture models, because this is severely lacking in the United States, a place with a history of long, hard, labor and environmental justice struggles. Liz is a queer, middle-class white woman who wants to a partner and ally in all kinds of struggles for justice! Intellectually, she doesn't know why the CIW's work has impacted her so much, but she feels a great deal of passion to support their work and be a part of this movement for social change in the way that we grow and buy our food. Liz is also really interested in baking delicious vegan treats with her housemates at Davis Student Co-operative, a place that has been a source of amazing growth for the past 3 years. She is super excited about getting more folks in California on board with the SFA and CIW, the west coast has got to keep on representin!

Kate Hadley (21; Providence, RI; kate@sfalliance.org) is originally from Philadelphia, PA, but currently works and plays in Providence, RI where she attends school. She initially learned about the Campaign for Fair Food in the worlds of both labor solidarity organizing and urban farming, and linked up with SFA in 2008 at the (very!) tail-end of the Subway campaign. For the spring and summer of the 2010 season, Kate moved down to Immokalee to intern with SFA. Kate is inspired by all of the incredible organizers that she knows, and is excited to work with fellow allies in the Providence area on such a badass campaign this season!

Natalia Margolis (21; Washington, DC; natalia@sfalliance.org) is originally from Oakland, CA, but goes to Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Natalia first got involved in the Campaign for Fair Food when she went to the Farmworker Freedom March. Since then, she has been working on the Ahold campaign and hopes to help get a strong DC Fair Food committee going. She is interested in agroecology, food justice, environmental science, and urban agriculture. As a member of the Georgetown Solidarity Committee she fights for worker justice with campus workers and in the broader community. In her spare time she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, beading, eating asparagus, and admiring trees.

), a native of the woodlands of Northern Florida, is finishing up her studies at Georgetown University as a Culture & Politics major with a concentration in ecological justice. She first encountered the CIW during her freshwoman year in college while attending a United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS) Conference in Miami, FL with the Georgetown Solidarity Committee, and has been involved with Burger King and subsequent campaigns. In addition to SFA, she works in other labor and immigrant rights movements in D.C. and along the U.S.-Mexico border. She is, as always, psyched to have the opportunity to be involved with a kick-ass campaign based in her home state from her new quarters in Washington.

Joe Parker (22, Washington DC; joe@sfalliance.org) grew up outside the town of DeWitt, Michigan - located near the center of the mitten. He is currently a senior at Georgetown University, studying Culture and Politics. His real education takes place outside the classroom, however: fighting with workers and students to build a fairer, more radical campus community. Joe is excited to be returning to the SC for another year. He looks forward to organizing with SFAers across the country to join farmworkers in taking down corporate greed. Joe also loves music, dancing, pupusas, dark chocolate, and his compas - all of which he believes are crucial to building a better world.

Guadalupe Rodriguez Lopez (21; Brooklyn, NY; guadalupe@sfalliance.org) is a queer punkera, Xicana/Salvadoriana community organizer, born and raised in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn. When she got back to NYC in the summer of 2010, she began organizing in the South Bronx with the Rebel Diaz Art Collective. From there, she was connected with the work of the CIW and the Community/Farmworker Alliance. Growing up, she has witnessed the injustices her familia and relatives had to go through to make ends meet, and has a great responsibility fighting for justicia for those exploited in our society. She loves her work doing Outdoor Education with NYC young peoples, dancing cumbia/xip-hop y punk rock on the weekends, and enjoys reading and writing. Katy Savage (26; Nashville, TN; katys@sfalliance.org) is a desert rat from southern Utah who recently graduated from the University of Utah's Environmental Humanities program, where she did ethnographic work with Peruvian sheepherders in rural Utah and indigenous herders in the Navajo Nation. She currently pays her rent by growing and maintaining food gardens in Nashville, where she works with groups promoting and researching democratic economies and food sovereignty and fighting racism in food production and accessibility. She also sits on the steering committee for the Workers Dignity Project/Dignidad Obrera, a Tennessee wage-theft clinic, and spends a little time in Guatemala researching peasant movements, resistance to neoliberalism, and people-affirming environmentalisms. Katy's life-plans include creating a worker-owned farm/kitchen collective, writing something worth reading, and raising her own dairy goats, bees, and tree crops.

Amanda Sliby (21; Tampa Bay/Immokalee, FL; amanda@sfalliance.org) was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, FL. She is overwhelmingly glad to be a part of the SC and to learn from her fellow Fair Food activists. Amanda is an undergrad in Cultural Anthropology at the University of South Florida, and is deeply concerned with preserving the diversity of humanity, promoting an ethic of care, and getting Publix to reach an agreement with the CIW! She likes to do cross-cultural studies of feminism in order to have a better understanding of her place as a female activist in this society. As a restaurant worker exposed to the lives of her Mexican migrant co-workers, she has had a growing interest in the push-pull factors of immigration and processes of acculturation. Amanda makes frequent trips ‘cross the Howard Franklin Bridge to connect with the larger Tampa Bay area and to meet with her newfound love, Tampa Bay Fair Food. She sees that her community has a good number of folks concerned with buying “organic" and hopes to so steer more people to also be concerned about human rights in the supply chain. She is excited to bring energy and experience from her involvement with the SFA to TBFF! Amanda’s most prized possession is the dialogue shared by her friends/mentors/family, and their never-ending encouragement.
