When people come together to organize, we have the power to change our lives and the world around us.

Here are some basic primers from some of our friends that cover topics such as getting your group started, developing campaign strategy, planning actions and rallies, doing press work, and more.

General:

  • Consult pages 37-78 of the 2010 SFA Strategy Retreat resources booklet for a plethora of organizing how-to's covering everything from

Fundraising:

Whether it's printing and copying flyers, holding a regional SFA gathering, or bringing a group to a national CIW mobilization, raising funds is often a necessary component of organizing. Check out these guides for help and ideas:

Anti-oppression/bigger picture:

  • Leadership development and organizing - "... Leadership development can play important roles in moving forward with our commitment to equality in organizations, movements and society."
  • The CIW and the IWW - "The most important, practical sense in which the CIW shares an organizing culture with the IWW is in the emphasis on consciousness as the basis of action..."
